My inbox has been a steady chorus of the same patient, persistent question: “When is the women’s collection dropping?”

If I’m being completely transparent, as the woman in charge of navigating the day-to-day choices, the decisions, and formulating the grand vision of LAIDBACK, the delay hasn't been an oversight. It was a deliberate, protective pause.

In a world that demands hyper-speed turnarounds, it would have been incredibly easy to pull a standard corporate shortcut: take our existing men’s patterns, shrink them down, color them pink, and call it a day. But fast fashion is forgettable. More importantly, it completely contradicts everything we stand for.

When we say we design Clothing That Creates Conversation, we are talking about honoring the intellect and the unique comfort of the person wearing the fabric. For women, finding a casual tee that actually respects our natural movement is a notoriously frustrating game. We are constantly forced to choose between boxy, shapeless silhouettes or tight, unyielding structures that completely disrupt our ability to just relax and take life easy.

I wasn't willing to rush that. This introduction is deeply personal to me. We took our time because we wanted every garment to be a considered choice—developing contour-perfect lines, testing the exact weight of breathable custom cotton blends, and ensuring a genuine, effortless drape that acts as a comfortable shield for your day.

To me, the LAIDBACK philosophy has never been just about the end product; it’s about the human architecture and the community behind the process. As a woman leading this fledgling venture, my ultimate goal is to build an ecosystem that celebrates human skill and localized creativity.

We hope to soon undertake quiet, deliberate steps to form decentralized micro-workgroups of incredibly talented local women artisans.

This will not be about factory lines; it shall be about creating a joyful, empowering space where independent makers can showcase their mastery at their own natural pace. We are building a pipeline to integrate delicate, timeless crafts right into our casual wear—from intricate crochet accents to traditional block printing and plain, precise stitching.

By keeping these circles small and collaborative, we ensure that every single garment feels like a well-thought-out piece of art touched by human hands.
